2018 NCGA Four Ball Qualifier

Saturday, April 07, 2018

Los Lagos Golf Course

Welcome to our club qualifier for the NCGA Four Ball Net Championship. Two teams will move on to the next round of qualifying at a local course on May 24. Teams that qualify at the regionals will advance from there to the finals at Poppy Hills on June 18 and 19. As in the past, players who advance will pay their own way and may sign up online at the NCGA website. Qualifiers will be provided signup details following the event.

For the NCGA qualifier, the maximum index is 18.4. As usual for 4-ball events players play at 90% of their course handicap with an additional 10% reduction if there is more than an 8 stroke difference in the partner's handicaps. In the competition for prizes and TOC points there is no maximum index. As a result, some teams will have 2 scorecards. Turn in your scorecards to James Kaku at the end of the round.

In the event of a tie for the qualifier portion of the tournament, there will be a hole-by-hole play-off to determine the winners.

Carts are included in the entry fee.

We will adhere to USGA rules, Sunnyvale Golf Course and PAGC local rules.

We will play using the following local rules due to the weather and course conditions:
PREFERRED LIES:  When the Committee has determined that "preferred lies" or "winter rules" are necessary due to adverse weather or course conditions, the following Rule is in effect:

"A ball lying on a closely mown area through the green may be lifted without penalty and cleaned. Before lifting the ball, the player must mark its position. Having lifted the ball, he must place it on a spot within one club length of and not nearer the hole than where it originally lay, that is not in a hazard or on a putting green."

NOTE: "Closely mown area" means any area of the course, including paths through the rough, cut to fairway height or less. Additional details concerning penalties can be found in Appendix I of the Rules of Golf.

This really means that you cannot lift, clean and place in the rough.

We will have 2 flights (Augusta & Masters) and both will play from the white tees.

Prizes and TOC points per flight are as follows:
1st Place  =   $38 per player   – Baylands Pro shop, 19 TOC points each
2nd Place =  $18 per player    – Baylands Pro shop,   9 TOC points each

Our next tournament is our Shoreline ILN Shotgun and Annual Meeting.an ILN Shotgun on April 21.

We will have our annual club meeting after the completion of the round. Please attend and hear the latest on the state of our club. We also encourage input on the future direction of PAGC.

Signups for Shoreline closes on April 11, so please sign up early.

Play well and have fun!
